2 pairs of shoes that I LOVE!

Hey Beauty Birds!

I was going through my shoe collection this morning and I thought why not show you guys what my fave shoes of the moment are! Both of these shoes are SO inexpensive and still available in stores now!!

1st Pair: Red 'suede' flats with gold chain
OMG I have been wearing these every day! No joke...
They are from Kmart and I got them for $15 - what a bargain! I love buying shoes from Kmart...SO CHEAP & surprisingly good quality :)

I love suede.. even though it's fake suede hahaha :)

The gold chain had some HIDEOUS tassels attached,
so I just cut them off. (They were very easy to remove) :)

2nd pair: 'suede' pumps from Rubi Shoes
I WISH MY FEET LOVED WEARING THESE SHOES....but they don't. It feels like my feet are walking over stone when I'm wearing these babes...and it makes me sad :(
I snagged these for $20 at Rubi Shoes....I was in there the other day and they're still there...so hurry if you like them!

Honestly, I don't wear them THAT often because they are so uncomfortable, but I wear them around the house constantly, hoping that my feet will love them eventually! (Don't think it's gonna happen) ... :(

Oh how much I love these :)
Did I mention that they're a size too small
for me? That would explain why they're painful.. lol

Sad face they're so painful to wear!

That's all guys...sorry this is a super short post! I was due to do something and thought it might be interesting for some of ya!

Thanks loves, talk soon xxx

Mid Week Faves!

Hey Beauty Birds!

This week I have been digging through some older beauty products that I have been neglecting (Oops)!!

Here's what I've been LOVING:

1. Kim Kardashian EDP 100ml

This perfume has copped so much criticism..I only know of two people who like this scent! 'LIKE' not love... I LOVE THIS PERFUME! Omg..I think it smells so nice and every time I wear it, I feel sophisticated. I always get compliments when I wear this fragrance by people I don't even know!

I'm not going to try and describe the smell....here's an in depth description for anyone who may be wondering.. http://www.nstperfume.com/2010/02/16/kim-kardashian-by-kim-kardashian-perfume-review/

The only issue I've had with this is the lid to the bottle. - It was always pulling the sprayer off the bottle so I chucked it out! Not a problem anymore :) .. If you're one for lids, maybe skip this perfume!

See, no lid :P

2. Naked Palette (Original)

A product that all beauty fanatics need to own (along with the Naked 2 Palette). I had this palette hiding in my makeup collection so decided it was time to bring it out this week! I've been focusing on the colours 'Virgin', 'Buck', 'Naked' and 'Gun Metal'. This palette is so so amazing! You can use it for a super casual or super dramatic eye look! 'Buck' has become a eyebrow shade for some! :)

Neutrals, Neutrals Neutrals :)

3. False eyelashes from Hot Dollar!  (Equivalent to The Dollar Store)

I picked up about 7 packets of these false lashes after my shift at work one day! I work next to a Hot Dollar store, so I'm always finding nice things in there! (They sell a lot of nice house decor as well)

Anyway, I picked these up..THE GLUE IS RUBBISH. I swear it's not even glue.. I attempted to open the 'glue' and it's rock hard...so ridiculous! hahaha...but for that price what do you expect :)

They last for as long as normal lashes if you
use a good glue!! The glue I love to use is
'Duo Lash Adhesive'

4. Necklace from Ebay

I paid 50c for this necklace and it had free shipping to Australia! It's pretty good quality for how cheap it was, and I wear it all the time! You can pair it with anything and it will look good! I love simple necklaces with a long chain, they just add a whole new element to a boring top, cardigan or blouse.

Here's a snap of the necklace :)

I love it! You can obviously tell by the photo that
it's a cheapie, but seriously....it is super long and
makes something simple so beautiful :)

Buying shoes from 'The Iconic.com.au'

Hi Beauty Birds!

Last night...yes that's right..last night! I bought a pair of shoes from The Iconic which is an online shoe, fashion and beauty store!

I ordered these shoes at 8pm last night and they arrived before 9am this morning! THAT IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! The Iconic is a relatively new site that prides themselves on fast delivery and customer satisfaction!

They only ship to Australia and New Zealand at the moment, so sorry to all of you lovely people who live elsewhere! I'm sure that they will ship internationally soon!

If you order something before 10pm on a working day, the product will arrive the next business day!! WHICH IS INSANE! (Be advised, this only applies to people living in the Sydney area) You can hop onto their website and check if your postcode is listed in the 'Sydney area' :) :)

If you're outside Sydney, you will need to place your order before 2pm on a business day to ensure it arrives the next business day :)

Thinking that this can't get better? YOU'RE WRONG!! If you live in the Sydney area, you can choose to pay an extra $5 and have your parcel in the next 3 hours! When you check out, it will give you the option if it's available for that particular item! How crazy is that???

This company is definitely attracting swarms of customers!!!!

Here's what I picked up:

Bonnie 2's by Lipstik $59.95
(Photo from The Iconic Website)

I think that they're super cute flats that are perfect for a party! (That's what I bought them for) :D
Plus, I love the glitter detailing on the tip of both shoes. Rose gold glitter is my favourite type!

The box they arrived in:

The box was huge so I knew my shoes would be safe :)

Just so Y'all know, the shoes were packed better than
this, I just forgot to take a picture when I first looked
at them hehe :) So this is my fabulous shoe packing

Here's what the shoes look like on ma feet :)
I LOVE THEM

Close up of the rose gold glitter bow :)

And again!

If you're looking for a great online store to buy shoes then definitely give The Iconic AU a go! I will most certainly be buying from them again! I'm so pleased with the FAST delivery and great service.
I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't like it!

How To Deep Clean Your Makeup Brushes!

Hey Beauty Birds!

It is super important to deep clean your makeup brushes at least once a week to avoid nasty bacteria growing and spreading of acne! (Of course only if you have acne-prone skin)

Here is what you need to do!!

You need a baby shampoo! We use baby shampoo
because it is more gentle on the brushes! :)
I picked this one up from my local pharmacy, but you can find something
similar anywhere ;)

First you want to rinse your makeup brush just as you would your
hair before you shampoo it!

Place a small amount of the shampoo on the palm of your hand.
If you don't want to make physical contact with it, I guess
you could put it on a flat surface. I just find that this
method works better ;)

Swirl the makeup brush on the palm of your hand, and the shampoo should start to
turn a yucky colour!! (Depending on what the brush is used for) .. This
brush is for bronzing, so it started to turn brown!

You then want to rinse your brush under cold water. Your sink
should look something like this!!

Excuse my shit nails haha..
But you then want to keep rinsing your brush until you
can squeeze it and the water runs clear :D

& Finally, let your brushes sit on a towel for them to dry
Be sure to let them lay down and not upright, because you don't
want the inside of the brush barrel to rust ;)

Nude by Nature: BB Cream Review

Hey Beauty Birds!

I recently picked up the new BB cream that Nude by Nature released! I was hesitant, knowing how much I love my Skin79 one! (http://www.skin79northamerica.com/)

I tried it the next morning, wearing it as a 'base' under my Revlon Colorstay foundation.

I'm going to get straight to the point - I don't like it. It smells pleasant -- it feels like you're placing a nice herbal spa type product on your face. (Most NBN products give you this feeling)
It wasn't a pleasant feeling though. I'm not a big fan of products that 'tighten' your face and don't moisturise. Comparing it to the Skin79 BB Cream WHICH IS SUPER DUPER moisturising, the NBN BB Cream is Poo :(

If you're unable to order the Skin79 BB Cream, then give this one a go! I definitely prefer this one to other Drugstore BB Creams -- the Garnier one is awful!!

Here are some shots of the product below:

50 ml BB Cream

I didn't expect the product to be this dark, most NBN
foundations that are 'Dark' never look like this!

The product feels thick, although it's very lightweight? Ahaha

After blending the product into my skin..

Ingredient list!

Pretty disappointed with this product but thought I would let you guys know in case you were thinking of buying it!
Maybe you will like it! If you've used the Skin79 one, I doubt it though!! Once you use a good BB cream, there's no room for this drugstore bullshit!

When it comes to BB creams, Asia does it best!

Elf Blush Unboxing: Blushing Rose, Tickled Pink & Pink Passion

My Elf order arrived this morning and I was sooo excited! The shipping only took three days!

The blushes were all packaged nicely in bubble wrap!

After taking them out of the bubble wrap:

Oh, I also got some blotting papers. They're not that
exciting though ;)

Here are shots of each blush:

'Blushing Rose'
This is probably my favourite out of the three! I love
how darker blushes look on my skin tone :)

'Pink Passion' (SOO much brighter in real life)
Very comparable to NARS Angelika

'Tickled Pink'
Has been compared to MAC's Well Dressed

I haven't tried any of these blushes yet but have heard good things about them!

I purchased 'Pink Passion' because it has been compared to NARS 'Angelika' :D

I'm sure I will be including these three blushes in my upcoming monthly favourites post :)

Revlon Lip Butter Review: 'Creamsicle' and 'Strawberry Shortcake'

Hey Beauty Birds!

A few months ago the Revlon Lip Butter hype finally hit Australian stores! I was shocked to see that they retail at around $20.00 each! (This isn't an unusual price for cosmetics in Aus)!! :(

Like most Revlon lip products, the packaging is 'quilted' and feels luxurious.

I only picked up two shades since I am pretty budget at the moment! The two shades I managed to snag were 'Creamsicle' and 'Strawberry Shortcake' .. Image below: (and swatches at the end)!!

L-R Creamsicle & Strawberry Shortcake

Creamsicle
This shade has gotten so much positive feedback in the beauty world! Supposedly, this is one of the many shades Rihanna wore during London Fashion Week. Whether this is true or not...I dunno!
I feel that this shade would definitely look better on fairer skin tones rather than olive or dark complexions. I have olive skin, and I feel this is just a bit too pale for me!
This shade has been described as a 'Muted Orange Peach' and it's all of those things! Here's the packaging and colour:

'Creamsicle'

Strawberry Shortcake
I only picked this shade up because there wasn't much left to choose from! I hadn't heard much about this shade and after swatching it in store I was impressed. This has quickly become one of my everyday essentials to have in my makeup bag!
I would describe the colour as a subtle everyday pink! Not too dark and if applied just on its own, it's quite sheer! I love how this colour compliments my darker hair. :)
This colour definitely has some blue undertones so would look fantastic on blondes!
Packaging and colour:

'Stawberry Shortcake'

AAAND here are the swatches:

As you can see, Creamsicle is very sheer and unnoticeable on me!! :(
I love Strawberry Shortcake though!

Once again, Revlon has released a brilliant product! I am such a fan of Revlon lipsticks and these have won me over! I definitely want to pick up some more shades soon...DAMN YOU AUSTRALIAN PRICES!

Thanks loves, talk soon xxx

My current foundation routine! (Including brows)

Hey Beauty Birds :)

Putting my foundation on is my favourite part of getting ready!! Here's how I do it!
(I will try and link all products to online stores) :)

Primer
I had always been hooked on my Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Primer, although it is $55.00 in Australia and a gal can't pull that out of her pocket once every two months! I recently read an article online discussing Milk of Magnesia as a fantastic primer! I then discovered that it is banned in Australia because of some harmful chemicals or what not!
Anyway, after researching further I discovered that we have an equivalent in Australia! Mylanta is Australia's answer to Milk of Magnesia!!

I work in a pharmacy, so as you can imagine I was very excited to work my shift the next day! I picked up a small bottle of Mylanta which retails at about $7.00 in Australian pharmacies. :)

LET ME TELL YOU....This is a fantastic primer!! I wouldn't recommend using it every day as it can easily dry out your skin..but since I have combination/oily skin this is a dream come true! I use Mylanta most days, and if my skin is feeling a little dry I'll switch back to the NP Primer.

Here is what Mylanta looks like if you're not sure!

It's looks like milk and smells minty haha :)

Foundation
For a long time I had been using my Napoleon Perdis Foundation Stick which I claimed back after getting my makeup done for my Year 10 Formal - which was a long time ago!
Again, I am starting to gather many more expenses so I can't be forking out $62.00 for my everyday foundation!
I am now using a mix between Revlon Colorstay 'Sand Beige' and Revlon New Complexion 'Medium Deep' which I think has been discontinued (Can't find it online)!!

For a long time I was just using Colorstay 'Sand Beige' on it's own, and if you know Revlon foundations, it's veerrrrrryyy pale!! I finally found some sense and mixed a darker foundation in with it and walllaaaah! I now have the perfect shade of foundation :)
I don't know what I'm going to do when my New Complexion runs out! I really love the finish these two foundations give me! :)

Revlon Colorstay 'Sand Beige' and Revlon New Complexion 'Medium Beige'

Concealer
I swear I'm never changing concealers! I have a whole tub that's overflowing, but I've found the love of my life.
It's a concealer that's copped a bit of hate in the beauty world, but I seriously have no idea what everyone's talking about! This concealer saved my life! :P Haha, maybe being a bit dramatic!
Covergirl & Olay make a brilliant baby -- let me say that much!
Know which one I'm talking about yet??

It covers all under eye circles and I rarely get blemishes so I'm not sure how well it would work for covering spots and so on!
As you can see I'm almost out, so I'll have to go and repurchase it soon!!

Eyebrows
Shadows used to be my best friend when it came to filling in my eyebrows, although I must not have seen how bad it made them look! One day I was flicking through photos and my brows seemed to look so ashy!! Eugh, they were awful!

I had an eyebrow pencil lurking around in my makeup collection that I hadn't shown any love! I decided to give it a go and I've never looked back!

Revlon Colorstay Eye Pencil (Waterproof) < (Not a link to an online store, just the product information) has become my only brow pencil! It leaves them dark, which suits my hair colour..which is black! I use the shade 'Dark Brown' which is the only shade I have tried.

If you're getting sick of using powder to fill in your brows, definitely give Revlon Brow pencils a go!

Setting Powder
This is the only setting powder I have used and I can't see myself every switching! It's the Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish Powder Foundation and I use the shade Look 4 (Which is now known as LookG4 Gold Sand).

This powder doesn't cake and it keeps your foundation looking flawless all day! Well, not all day :P
I definitely have to reapply throughout the day, although I'd say that's because of my skin type, not because it's a dud!

Also, I never use the sponge and I don't recommend use of it!! It spreads bacteria if not washed regularly and it wastes so much product!! A brush is the way to go! I just use a cheap powder brush from my local pharmacy :)

Battle of the liquid liners! Maybelline, Loreal and SAX

Finding the right liquid liner is such a P in the A!! These three liners have been in a constant battle with each other, one of them WANTING MY HEART! I'm happy to announce that one of these liners have won me over!

(Left to right)
Maybelline Line Stiletto (Black), SAX (14 Blackest Black), Loreal Telescopic (Black)

Let's go backwards!!

Loreal Telescopic - RRP in Australia: $12.00
This eyeliner was the very first to win my heart! You do need a steady hand as the applicator is quite stiff (very easy to make a mess, trust me)!!
After a lot of practice, I managed to create the perfect winged liner! Eventually it started to dry up and it was time to go and repurchase it once again! What are the odds that it's out of stock!! -__-

This eyeliner is ideal for people who have a steady hand or have a lot of experience with liquid liners! It's fine if you don't have lots of experience, maybe you will be a natural! If your hands are a bit shaky and you're just a bit uncoordinated then this eyeliner isn't for you. :)
Definitely the best liner of life for doing a dramatic cat eye! I still go back to this one just for that :)

This is the applicator for Loreal Telescopic!
That applicator is stiff! It aint gonna bend for ya!

SAX Liquid Eyeliner - RRP in Australia: $9.99
Cheap and amazing!! This eyeliner definitely kills two birds with one stone!
As I was saying before, I went to repurchase Loreal Telescopic and it was out of stock! At the time, SAX was a new brand to me, so I decided to grab one of their liquid liners and give it a go...boy was I impressed!!

The applicator is like Loreal Telescopic's sibling! It's stiff, so again wouldn't recommend for someone new to makeup! Unless you're naturally amazing and talented at all things in life, then that's fine ;)

This eyeliner will give you the perfect dramatic eyeliner look (wings, flicks) -- whatever you do! :P
I used this eyeliner for so long! I even went out and bought a few back ups in case it got discontinued! hehehe

Applicator for SAX Liquid Liner
Again, it's a stiff applicator! Aint gonna budge!

MAYBELLINE LINE STILETTO AKA GODS GIFT. - RRP in Australia - $10.00-$12.00
Whoa!!!! Everyone just settle down for a mo!
This is seriously the most amazing liquid liner I have ever used! It's strange for me to like it so much because the applicator isn't stiff *pause for reaction*

The applicator is still felt tip, although it .......BENDS!!
I rarely wear winged liner these days, so this is perfecto and SUPER EASY for me to use...especially if I'm tired in the morning when putting on my face :)

If I do choose to go back to doing a winged liner look I use my Loreal Telescopic :)
So yes, my SAX eyeliners are gathering dust in the makeup drawer! I promise they will be loved again soon though! :D

The colour of the liner is looking brown, it's
definitely black though :D

If you're new at makeup or just getting sick of your liquid liner, I definitely recommend giving this one a go! You won't be disappointed!! :D

Nude by Nature: Smokey Eye Trio

Something I recently picked up from my local pharmacy after hearing lots of positive feedback! The three mineral eye shadows you get in the kit are 'Stone', 'Graphite' and 'Ice' (All swatches will be down below).

If you are new at becoming familiar with makeup brands, you may remember NBN commercials! Just in case you don't, there was a seedy old man on a boat seducing women with acne-prone skin, claiming that their life would be changed once trying mineral cosmetics!

I can safely say that after using NBN cosmetics continually for the last two years, my life has changed! :P Only kidding, but there are some decent products in their range! - Just don't come yelling at me if they don't change your life!

The three eye shadows look like this in their packaging:

Of course they have their names on the back!

And here are the swatches! (Top to bottom) Stone, Graphite and Ice.

My favourite colour is definitely Stone (The top colour). It's the perfect gun metal grey with just the right amount of shimmer! It reminds me of 'Gun Metal' from the Naked Palette.

To be honest, Graphite and Ice are colours I'm not drawn to. 'Ice' is in the kit intending to be used as an inner corner and brow bone highlight. I much prefer a champagne shimmer to place in both of those areas, so I may be doing a giveaway on this blog sometime soon giving away both 'Ice' and 'Graphite'.

Everyone needs a good black eye shadow in their makeup collection, this one just isn't for me! I much prefer 'Carbon' by M.A.C.

If you're new to using mineral eye shadows, I definitely recommend some type of powder flage to ensure that the rest of your face isn't ruined during the application. Benefit's Powderflage is the only one I have used and it's amazing! All you need to do is place it under your eyes and once you have applied your mineral eye shadow, you just brush it away and it will disappear! Magic!!

I'm happy to have discovered 'Stone' and I'm sure the other two colours will find their way into someone else's hands soon!

If you're interested in picking up this eye shadow trio, purchase it directly off the NBN site here.
